Bernanke Wants Us To Spend More

While I don't subscribe to the theory that he's intentionally trying to **** things up, I must admit his recent comments gave me a chuckle.

If he wants us to spend more, why doesn't he RAISE savings rates so we can! I have asked him this in an email to him and many of the other "brains" responsible for our predicament but surpriseingly, no comment!! What a joke! And it's on US!

Hard to spend what you don't have --at least it is for me. For others , it doesn't seem to be an issue at all - until the bills come due.

I'd spend more if I would be getting some fair interest paid on my money in the bank.

So now Ben wants us all to go into debt beyond our means? People aren't spending because either they don't have it, their incomes are way down or they fear the future and are paying-off debt.
