Electronic Savings Bonds Don't Make Good Gifts

Now that paper bonds can no longer be purchased, you'll have to buy savings bonds online at Treasury Direct even if you're giving the savings bond as a gift. The FW member CPAESQ has a good description of what this requires. As you can see, the online process pretty much kills giving savings bonds as gifts.
