$100 Checking Account Bonus At Bank Of America Branches In Some States
Bank of America (0 stars) - DetailsIf you decide to open a checking account at Bank of America, be careful about fees. As I described in this post, fees have been going up and they're harder to avoid.
If you can live with potential fees, there's a new $100 checking account bonus. I don't see it listed online, but it was mentioned in this Maximizing Money blog post. It's only available in branches in certain states. It's scheduled to expire on 6/4/2012. Direct deposit is required. Offer Code UAZBCT.
When opening the checking account, be sure to get written confirmation of the promotion. Many readers have had problems getting BofA honoring past promotions.
A $100 bonus may not be worth the hassles of dealing with BofA. However, there's the additional opportunity of BofA's Keep the Change promotion in which you can earn up to $1,250 per year. You can read how people have done this in this FW thread. This Keep the Change program has been around for a while so it appears BofA is willing to tolerate the few people who max out the bonus.
