Recent GDP News Not Good For Deposit Rates

In its first estimate Friday, the Commerce Department said gross domestic product rose at a 2.2% annual rate between January and March, slower than the 3.0% pace in the prior three months. Economists polled by MarketWatch had expected a 2.7% growth rate.

We're going to have to see better-than-expected economic reports rather than these worse-than-expected ones for us to have any chance of the Fed raising rates before late 2014.

That and the dire news out of the eurozone may lead to another round of QE by the central banks.
