DetailsKeeping your belongings safely tucked away in a safe deposit box is a great idea. But when your only photo identification is a passport that happens to be inside that box, it might prove troublesome. A man trying to fly to India to visit his ailing mother was prevented from going anywhere when Wells Fargo put up a fight over his safe deposit box.

1. Monday, April 30, 2012 - 1:52 PMIt's interesting to see different branches of Wells Fargo have different policies on this. I wonder if branches that were always Wells Fargo have the more traditional policy of requiring verification before you can access the box. I know a nearby Wells Fargo branch that used to be a Wachovia branch doesn't check ID for safe box access (at least it didn't last year).
