Bank Failures #69 & #70 in Georgia and Michigan
As of 6:00pm CDT today, two small banks have been closed by regulators: Satilla Community Bank, Saint Marys, Georgia and New Liberty Bank, Plymouth, Michigan. That brings an end to Georgia's failure-free streak. The last bank to fail in Georgia was Unity National Bank, Cartersville, on March 26, 2010.
Refer to the FDIC press release page for more details. I'll have more on these tonight in my bank failure review.
