Businesses are Sitting on More Cash Than Ever

This Kiplinger article shows why we should see increased business spending which should fuel the economic recovery. However, what I found most interesting was this statistic:
As last year drew to a close, nonfinancial businesses were holding nearly 15.7% of their financial assets in bank deposits, commercial paper and other superliquid investments
This is another reason why many banks are not in need of deposits. The article does point out that this should change before long as businesses take on more risk.
