Downsides of Target Date Mutual Funds

For conservative investors looking for a simple investment, target date funds can be appealing. These are basically balanced funds that become more conservative (more bonds and fewer stocks) as it nears the target date (typically your retirement). However, as is common in investing, there are always downsides, and these are pointed out in this MintLife Blog post.
