EverBank's Foreign Currency CDs and Other Alternatives?

EverBank has long offered foreign currency CDs. Back in 2007 I did a review of EverBank's World Currency CDs. Are these CDs a good option for savers? If they are a good option, wouldn't we see more banks offering similar products? That's the question discussed in this Bogleheads thread.
