Friday Bank Closures? Couple of FDIC Press Releases

Last year the bank closures didn't start up again until two weeks into the new year. We'll see what happens tonight. Here are two recent noteworthy FDIC press releases:

FDIC Issues Interest Rate Risk Advisory: This is meant for the banks. One interesting excerpt warns banks about internet accounts being vulnerable to rate chasers:

Generally, rate-sensitive and higher-cost deposits, such as brokered and Internet deposits, would reflect higher decay rates than other types of deposits.

FDIC Announces Winning Bidder of $1 Billion in Loans:

[The FDIC] has closed on a sale of an equity interest in a limited liability company (LLC) created to hold certain assets out of 22 failed bank receiverships.
