Interactive Map of the Most Financially Troubled Banks

Friday, March 19, 2010 - 1:02 PM
There's an interesting table and interactive map of the nation's most financially troubled banks at the Global Economic Trend Analysis blog. The table lists the bank's Texas ratios, capitalization and percentages of problematic loans.

The table and map are based on the FDIC's Q4 2009 data that the FDIC released last month.

Hat tip to reader Shorebreak who mentioned this map in the Open Discussions Thread.

The problem with the table is that it lists a significant number of banks that failed over a year ago, leading the curious to wonder how up to date the table really is.  When banks failed way before the 4th Q of 2009, why are they still listed?
