RTN Federal Credit Union continues to offer a 2.00% APY on its 1-year CD for a minimum balance of $50K. It's also available as an IRA. This is listed at the credit union's rate table as of 4/16/2010.

The credit union is based in Massachusetts, but it appears to offer easy membership through associations. Please refer to my January RTN FCU review for the full details.

I looked over the long list of groups that can qualify you for CU membership. There are many. Only a minority are hyperlinked to a Web site.

I found that for $12, anyone can join the Historical Society of Watertown (Wisconsin) and via that qualify for CU membership.

If you want to spend more, anyone can join the Civil War Round Table for $20, and via that qualify for CU membership.

Maybe someone else perusing the long list will find some group we can join for less.

Banking guy: would be nice to get a writeup on the FCU in the Blog.
