Salem Five Direct Cuts Savings and Checking Rates, Adds Debit Card Rewards

Another round of rate cuts at Salem Five Direct:

• eOne Savings Account rate is now 1.25% APY (was 1.45%)
• eOne Checking Account rate is now 0.60% APY, 0.65% APY $50K+ (was 0.65% to 0.75%)

It's hard to believe the checking account used to pay up to 5.30% back in 2007. One minor improvement is that they have a new debit card reward program: 0.50% cash back when you make non-PIN debit card purchases.
