Second Credit Union Liquidation of 2010

The NCUA shut down a tiny credit union today. From the NCUA's press release

[NCUA] today liquidated Friendship Community Federal Credit Union of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and accepted Shreveport Federal Credit Union’s offer to purchase and assume the credit union

Friendship Community CU had less than $1 million in assets and only 685 members. This is the second credit union to be liquidated this year. The first one was more sizable. The NCUA now maintains a list of closed credit unions.
