Saturday, January 30, 2010 - 9:21 PM
In addition to an overview of 529 plans, this MintLife article has a good suggestion for those who prefer to save with certificates of deposit:

"Pacific Life has determined that it will not renew its participation in the Montana Family Education Savings Program (MFESP), which is set to expire at the beginning of June 2011. [...] Effective February 1, 2010, new applications for the MFESP may only be made by Montana residents purchasing shares directly from Pacific Life Funds." https://collegesavings.myaccount.pacificlife.com/csm/home/product_info/prospectuses.html
