The Calculated Risk Blog has an update to its unofficial problem bank list
. The total number on the list is now 653, up from 640. Two banks failed on Friday that weren't on this list, so like any unofficial list, it's not a perfect prediction of bank failures. The list depends on public enforcement actions. It's impossible to know all the information used by regulators.
Calculated Risk Blog also has some interesting bank failure graphs
which show how 2010 compares with previous years.
