When the CD matures, it will automatically renew into a 12 month CD unless you close it. Note, their current 12-month CD yield is only 4.90% APY so you'll likely want to close the CD at maturity. They do have some competitive long-term rates which includes a 5.50% APY for the 60-month CD. These have a bump-up feature. I also noticed in the small print that certificate rates are 0.25% higher for Platinum members.
Field of membership includes those who live, work, worship, volunteer, consistently do business or go to school in Arlington County plus their immediate household and family members. Membership requires a minimum $5 deposit in the share savings account. A reader from the last post mentioned that the credit union did a hard pull (Equifax) when he/she joined and opened this CD.
The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 7573). It has $143.9 million in assets and 14,831 members.
