Aroostook County Federal S&L Welcomes Spring With 36-47 Month CD Special

Even in Maine’s northernmost county, Spring eventually comes around. To celebrate the end of Winter, Aroostook County Federal Savings & Loan (Aroostook S&L) recently introduced a new Spring Certificate Special: a 36-47 month CD Special (2.05% APY).

The minimum deposit is $500 and there is no maximum balance cap. According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty is 6 months interest, whether earned or not.

The 36-47 month CD Special is also being offered as an IRA (Traditional) earning the same APY, with the same funding requirements.

Availability

Aroostook County Federal Savings & Loan’s market area is essentially Aroostook County, one of the northernmost counties in the continental United States.

Opening an account at Aroostook S&L must be done in-person at either of two branches located in Caribou and Presque Isle.

Currently, Aroostook S&L’s online platform offers account management and bill payment services. For those with limited internet access, Aroostook S&L offer a 24/7 Phone Home Banking program.

Aroostook County Federal Savings & Loan came into being during the Great Depression to address a specific problem: residents of Aroostook County were having a very hard time obtaining the financing needed to buy or build a home. In July 1936, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston issued a federal banking charter and Aroostook S&L opened its doors. 79 years later, Aroostook S&L continues to serves the largest American county in land area east of the Rocky Mountains.

I don't see the point of showing any info about some obscure financial institution that is only available to about 4 people. Only show nationally available deals and products. This is ridiculous.

Your comment is ridiculous. the point is,  I'm from northern Maine and appreciate learning of a very competitive rate at a local institution that I would not have known about otherwise.
