Vons CU (CA) Has Limited Time, Very Competitive 6-Month CD
Now through June 30, 2015 Vons Credit Union (Vons CU) is offering a 6-month Jumbo Share Certificate Special (1.00% APY).
In this case, the term "Jumbo" is a bit of a misnomer, since the minimum deposit on the Share Certificate Special (CD) is only $5K of new money, with no balance cap.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty on the 6-month Jumbo CD Special is 60 days’ interest.
Availability
Membership in Vons Credit Union is open to the following groups of individuals:
1. All Vons and Unified employees, their family members, and households.
2. Employees of companies who do business with Unified Grocers.
3. Anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in the areas of El Monte, South El Monte, Monrovia, Irwindale, Temple City, Arcadia and parts of the City of Industry, California.
Joining Vons CU can be done mail, by telephone, or in person at any of seven branches located in Arcadia, Canoga Park, Commerce (2), El Monte, San Diego, and Santa Fe Springs.

Although the Vons Company was instrumental in the establishment of the Credit Union, it has no direct or indirect financial interest in the operation of the Credit Union. The name was changed to Vons Credit Union in 2010, a result of the acquisition of Certified Federal Credit Union.
