I was a member of CFCU while I attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. I chose CFCU because they had a branch on campus, but I stayed with CFCU because they had excellent customer service. I was always treated well when I had to deposit a check or had a question about their policies. For example, I needed to take out a loan. They explained to me what my options were and answered every question I had about repayment. CFCU is generally very helpful and want their customers to save money. Once, when I had a withdrawal that was going to overdraft, they called me up to try and get me to deposit money to fix it before they had to charge me. The only downside was that they didn't have any online banking at the time, but they now offer that service. I highly recommend that Tompkins County residents get a CFCU account.
I have had an account with this bank for at least 18 years. They have always had low fees and no requirements for having a certain amount of money in my checking account. I like having a local bank because I feel like anytime I have a problem with my account I can walk into a local branch and they will take care of the problem. I feel like they really care about my business and treat me with respect. I feel like my account is safe and secure with them and I enjoy banking with them. The only issue I have is that they do not have as many ATM machines close to my office so sometimes I have to use an out of network machine if I don't have time to make it to an in network machine or a branch. These small inconveniences still do not out weigh the piece of mind I have by having a local bank.
I joined this CFCU Community Credit Union when starting my PhD program in an isolated city. I wanted a local bank or credit union that I could use for rent checks and other local banking needs. The service has been satisfactory. This credit union is very local, so I will be closing my accounts when I leave. I have been satisfied with the service and believe that this credit union has met my needs.
After moving to a small town in central New York, I wanted to have a local bank to do things like pay rent. CFCU Community Credit Union seemed like a good choice. They had better interest rates on savings and checking accounts than other banks or credit unions in the area. As is the case in general with businesses in central New York, customer service is not their strong suit. They are incredibly slow and unfriendly when you go to them with questions about your account. There is no mobile app for this credit union. Their website interface also seems horribly dated. Overall, the experience is decent, but the bar for a local bank or credit union in central New York is awfully low.
Cfcu teller punch my husband and now cfcu banned my husband from coming into their bank. They should of fired that employee. We have filed a lawsuit for cfcu to forgive our mortgage so we can go to another bank. Police officer and 911 call will be our witness in court. Laws say they are not allowed to banned customers that have a loan or money with that bank.
DO NOT USE THIS BANK! THEY ABUSE THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!
Cfcu tried getting my husband arrested, but maybe next time. They shouldn't lie in court and emails. Cfcu employee sent an email to the prosecutor saying my husband was arrested. Which never happened and there was proof. No police report or files on my husband ever being arrested for anything in his life.
Cfcu lost in court! Check Ithaca court. Trial was on 5/7/2018
