I like the customer service provided. Fees applied are quietly reasonable. Overall I love credit union. Customers are given importance.
I had just move to the area and was looking for a local credit union when I came across Charlotte Metro Credit Union. As I Walk into the branch I notice that it had the relaxed and small town feel I was used to. As I waited in line to see a customer service agent I looked over the product information that they offer at CMCU and was impressed with all of the things they offered. Once I met with my agent I felt like a part of the family as soon as I sat at her desk. The products they offer were similar to all of the other big banks in the area but you felt like you have more of a personal touch with CMCU.
This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a bank. I had very high hopes with my account and they turned out to be worse than the other big bank in Charlotte.
I open the account and was unaware that they were doing a hard pull on my credit. Wouldn't have been a big deal if I had known that was happening, but I didn't know until after I checked my report.
They restrict access to the ATM for 90 days, so you can't deposit cash or checks into them and you are forced to go into the bank. Extremely inconvenient. And on top of that the guys who works as a teller even said he doesn't trust the atms and that I should drop my money into they're Dropbox safe.
I also explained to them a transaction, that I did not do, ran through my account and after many phone calls, and time wasted with the branch manager they would not return the fee that was accrued. Tried to dispute it and they wouldn't do it.
Very disappointed with this bank. I really had high hopes for Charlotte metro but it's been joke since day one.
If you're looking for convenience this is not the bank you want to work with.
