At the beginning of May, Clackamas Federal Credit Union (Clackamas FCU) introduced a new rewards checking account, the Amplify Checking, which earns 3.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $15k. Qualifying balances over $15k earn 0.25% APY, with non-qualifying balances not earning any interest.

There’s only one qualification requirement: at least 12 debit card purchases post and clear during each monthly qualification cycle.
The Amplify Checking account has no monthly service fee, no minimum balance requirement, and no minimum opening deposit requirement. Nationwide ATM fees will be reimbursed up to $25 per month, if qualifications are met. eStatements are free, but there is a $3 fee for each paper statement requested.
Headquartered in Milwaukie, Oregon, Clackamas Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency-based, with individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Clackamas County eligible for membership.

Established in 1957 as the CLACKLO Federal Credit Union, the original FOM was limited to county, municipal, state, and federal employees who worked in Clackamas County. Following the 1984 merger with the Milwaukie Community Credit Union, the Credit Union rebranded as Clackamas Federal Credit Union. Nearly 20 years later, a community charter was adopted, allowing the residents of Clackamas County to join. Clackamas FCU is currently Oregon’s 12th largest credit union, with more than 33,000 members and assets in excess of $387 million.
