Ent CU's (CO) 84-Month Certificate Offers Competitive Rate

Availability: Residents of the Colorado counties of Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Fremont, Jefferson, Pueblo, Teller, and Weld; Civilian and military personnel of the Colorado Air National Guard, Colorado Army National Guard, and Buckley Air Force Base.

Ent Credit Union (Ent CU) added an 84-month Certificate to its product line about 9 months ago, and earlier this year, increased the rate to 2.45% APY. The minimum opening deposit is $500, with no balance cap.

The 84-month Certificate is also being offered as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, and CESA) earning the same APY, with the same funding requirements.

As stated in Ent CU’s Truth In Savings document, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:

For certificates and IRA certificates with a maturity of 84 (eighty-four) months or seven (7)
years the early withdrawal penalty is three hundred sixty-five (365) days’ loss of dividends.

Availability

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Ent Credit Union field of membership is primarily residency based, with individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Fremont, Jefferson, Pueblo, and Teller Counties eligible to join.

Individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Weld County communities of Dacono, Erie, Firestone, Frederick, Ft. Lupton, and Mead also qualify.

Family members of current Ent CU members also qualify.

Civilian and military personnel of the Colorado Air National Guard, Colorado Army National Guard, and those associated with Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, are also eligible for membership.

And, if IRA and one is over 59 1/2 there may be no EWP and "for sure/may" those that are over 70 1/2.  One needs to do due diligence, as always.
4.15% 50-Month Add-On CD at Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado
Ent Federal Credit Union is offering a special 4.15% APY 50-month certificate. Minimum deposit is $5,000. The rate is listed on the credit union's promotion page as of 1/18/2009.

This special CD is called a Priority Certificate, and it has three nice features:
  • option to add to your certificate with a deposit of $1,000 or more within the first year
  • ability to make a one-time withdrawal of up to 50% of your balance without a credit union penalty
  • option to change your rate once during the term

4.25% 7-Month CD at a Colorado Credit Union (Ent)
Ent Federal Credit Union has a very nice certificate special with a yield of 4.25% APY for a 7-month term. The minimum deposit is $500.

Ent FCU had a couple of 6% CD promotions in 2006. So it has a history of high CD rates.

Ent Federal Credit Union has special rates on all of its certificates as part of its 50th Anniversary. All CD rates receive an extra 0.50% bump. This applies to regular, IRA and business certificates.
