6.01% Rewards Checking Account at a Kansas/Missouri Bank (Equity Bank)

Equity Bank has a reward checking account called the Equity WOW (WithOut Worries) Gold Checking with 6.01% APY on balances of under $25K. Balances over $25K earn 1.25% APY. There are no minimum balance requirements. It requires a minimum of 10 electronic transactions per month to earn the 6.01% APY. Electronic transactions can include ACH debit, ACH credit, point-of-sale, ATM, debit card or internet banking bill pay. If this is not met, the rate falls to 1.25% APY on all balances. This is similar to the several rewards checking accounts that I've mentioned before except that it allows more than just point-of-sale debit card transactions in its requirements. Also, there's no required direct deposit.
You can apply online, however, you must be a resident of Kansas or Missouri, or an existing Equity Bank customer to apply for a new account. All new accounts are verified through Chexsystems. Equity Bank is FDIC insured (Certificate # 25858).
