Update 3/8/08: The CD rates have fallen. Please check the credit union's website for the latest rates.

First Imperial Credit Union has some competitive certificate yields listed in their rate table. The highest yields require a minimum deposit of $50,000. These yields range from 4.55% APY for an 18-month term to 4.90% APY for a 60-month term. Yields are 10 basis points lower for a $500 minimum deposit. The rate table has a Feb 1, 2008 date so hopefully these rates will last for awhile.

Membership is open to anyone who regularly works, lives or worships in the Imperial Valley of California. Please see their Membership page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum $5 deposit in the savings account.

The credit union is located in El Centro, CA. It's federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68356). It has $59.3 million in assets and 9,966 members.
