First Keystone Community Bank Has Competitive Rate 60- and 84-month CDs
First Keystone Community Bank (northeast PA) recently raised the rates on two of its long-term CDs: 60-month CD (2.30% APY) and 84-month CD Special (2.45% APY).
While both CDs have no maximum balance caps, the 60-month CD has a $500 minimum deposit requirement and the 84-month CD Special requires a minimum $1K deposit. The 60-month CD is also available as an IRA (Traditional) at the same rate, with the same funding requirement.
The Early Withdrawal Penalty, as stated on First Keystone’s Truth-in-Savings Disclosure is structured as follows:
You may not make withdrawals of principal from your account during the first 90 days from the date the account was opened.
The actual penalty is based on the remaining term of the CD.
If the REMAINING term of your certificate is greater than 1,460 days (4 years), the PENALTY is 730 days (24 months) of interest.New eCertificate Program
In early September, First Keystone introduced its eCertificate program which eliminates the need for an in-person visit. There are three terms to choose from: 12-month eCD, 36-month eCD, and 60-month eCD. Of the three eCDs, only the 60-month CD (2.30% APY) is competitive. The minimum deposit on any of the eCDs is $1K, with a maximum deposit of $25K.
