My experience was actually very positive. I opened up an Ultra Checking account online to get 5.00% on my Checking. I had some questions. So I chatted with their Live Human chat, which was awesome. and apparently is available 7 Days a Week. Overall, the process was fast and easy.
Misinformation
While waiting on hold I started a chat. I asked whether a warranty deed was good enough proof of Fl residence if my license was from a different state. I was told yes. When I got to the bank it was sort of no for about 20 minutes but after the assistant mgr made calls it became an ok we will let you be a member but ONLY for my wife since I'm not co- owner of the condo. Next, on the phone before we went in I asked if I could be come a member as a "relative." I was told yes immediately after my wife became a member as it says on the website. Nope! Not a chance. Again, assistant mgr said absolutely not, unless I had my own separate proof I lived in Fla. They would not even let me be a joint owner on my wife's account. Waste of time.
After my follow up visit I changed my rating of this bank.
Do Not Do Business With This Bank
Overall this company has almost zero customer service if you cannot get to the physical bank.
Emails and texts go unanswered, extensions they give you don't work and trying to call take hours only to not be able to reach the department you need.
Paid off my loan in early December so I didn't have to deal with them anymore, it's now May and they are reporting my account delinquent daily to credit bureau.
