In May, MCS Bank (formerly known as Mifflin County Savings Bank) introduced three competitive long-term CDs, and the rates on those CDs were recently raised: 72-month CD (2.32% APY), 96-month CD (2.73% APY), and 108-month CD (2.93% APY).
MCS Bank also has two other long-term CDs, which have been part of their product line since November: 84-month CD (2.27% APY) and 120-month CD (2.88% APY).
The minimum opening deposit for all the above mentioned CDs is $1K, with no balance cap. The CDs are also available as IRAs (Traditional and Roth) at the same APYs, with the same funding requirements.
As stated on MCS Bank’s Deposit Account page, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:
72- and 84-month CDs – 12 months dividends
96-, 108-, and 120-month CD – 18 months dividends.
MCS Bank’s Kasasa Cash is a free checking account that earns 2.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $15K; qualifying balances over $15K earn 0.50% APY. The qualifying requirements are as follows:
- At least ten debit card purchases post and settle
- At least one ACH or direct deposit post and settle
- Be enrolled in and review eStatements
If the above requirements are not met, all non-qualifying balances will earn 0.05% APY.
