Mid American Credit Union is offering a competitive rate on its 5-year CD and IRA CD. It has a 2.10% APY for a minimum deposit of $1,000. The 3-year CD rate is also competitive with a 1.55% APY. These rates are listed in the credit union's dividend rates page as of 8/9/2012.

Credit unions are the way to go now, forget the banks that charge outragous service fees just for checking or even saving account.  If you have a credit card, they'll increase your rates without warning.  I closed my Regal Financail bank account and been very please with the credit union.  Better service, friendly staff and no hight fees.
3.25% 20-Month CD at Mid American Credit Union in Kansas
Mid American Credit Union is offering a special 20-month certificate with a 3.25% APY. Minimum deposit is $1,000. It's also available as an IRA certificate (both Roth and Traditional).
