I absolutely love my bank. I have been with them forever and they always have amazing customer service with anything we have ever needed. Even the few times mistakes have happened they quickly and accurately fix them. They offer checking, savings, loans, cds, investments, kids programs, Christmas programs to help save money to buy gifts and so much more. I love that they have alot of locations and I love their drive thru options as well. My favorite thing I use with them is their phone app. On this app I pay bills through their online bill pay, can track when things have cleared and even transfer money from one account to another. I would recommend this credit union above all else. Oh and they also allow direct deposit so that is so helpful as well! Great bank!
My account was started by my grandparents when I was born in 1983, back when you still had to be an employee of one of the ORNL plants to bank here. Once I was an adult in the workforce and old enough to choose my own bank, I quickly decided to stay with my credit union after reviewing other banks in the area for many reasons. The ease of making deposits is highly appealing to me. There are no deposit slips required, which makes depositing money a breeze. The minimum amount required in my checking account is $0, and the minimum for my savings is only $5-a huge difference from other banks in the area. I have been charged an overdraft fee on a few occasions, but their customer service is phenomenal and I have been able to have the charge refunded on most occasions. Since I have banked here for so long, most of the employees recognize me. They are always kind and courteous. I have never had any issues with the bank. I have also never experienced a hold on any of my deposits. I once deposited a check from selling our first home with a very high dollar amount and after a brief discussion I was able to get the hold waived and had immediate access to my funds. Now that memberships are available to anyone living in our area, I frequently recommend this credit union to others.
This place has the best banking experience I have ever had. Their loan rates are extremely competitive, and the approval process is extremely easy. The customer service is out of this world. There were a couple of times where my account was overdrawn, and when I explained the situation to them, they waived the fee! NO OTHER BANK would ever do that. The fees are where they make their money. Form ORNL, it always comes down to customer service. Little things like that are how you generate a customer for life. We have recently moved to a different state, but we are and will continue using ORNLFCU.
You guys ROCK!
2013 I open an account with ORNL and since I have been with them I have not had any problems with them not only have I got a checking account but I also have a savings and a christmas club account i made the best decision to go with this bank because one day I made a deposit at the drive through and I gave the teller my ID and my debit card because I did not have a deposit slip and the teller gave back my ID but I did not realized that he did not give back my debit card back so I was at a store across from the back and the teller called me on my cell phone to let me know that they forgot to give me my debit card so I went back through the drive through and they gave back my debit card and I was gratful that there is a trust worthly bank that will contact there customer about mishap at the window.
I would recomend ornl to all my family and friends because they are very friendly and always have a smile on there faces.
The credit union I use to hold my money has been beyond my expectation. I had a car loan through another provider that had an interest rate of 13.5%, and it was costing me a lot of money over each month. I brought all my paperwork to ORNLFCU, and I asked them to review my profile, and see if they could secure a better rate for me. The loan officer was very helpful and walked me through exactly how they decide. Once all the paper work was submitted, the loan officer called me to happily inform me they would take on my loan at an interest of 1.9% monthly. The credit union has saved me a lot of money, and I appreciate their service with reasonable fees.
This institution believes that penalizing customers for inquiring about banking practices, products, and services is a fair business practice. This is the only business I have ever encountered that will penalize a customer for asking questions. If you start to bank with them, always asks questions anonymously. They will remove features from your account, based upon questions you asks. They suck, I am closing my account!
I have been using credit unions for 7 years now and ORNL is the worst. They hold your cheques for 9 business days until you have established a 'relationship' with them, which no one will tell me how long that is. No one told me about any holds until I noticed them and called. Very poor customer service and I have never felt so held hostage.
Unreliable bill pay. Like using quicken out of the 1990’s. No communication between bill pay and bank. Multiple canceled payments with no explanation, including my mortgage payment. When you call the bank they blame the bill pay. When you call the bill pay they blame the bank. Occasionally they monkey with your account balances to charge overdraft fees when your account is actually in the black. I stopped using them for bill pay. They take much longer than other vendors to pay bills and you cannot trust them to fulfill bill pay requests. Web site is antiquated and frequently down. They will not take accountability for their shortcomings. Not worth the hassle.
