Great Rewards Account!

Posted by: garias846 | Jun 20, 2019

I have to say, I am so shocked about the reviews on this page. I think they might have to do more with the accountholders and the not the bank itself!

I have been a radius checking customer for a few years and last spring they announced that they were offering 1% cash back on signature based purchases. Admittedly, I had to call customer service to confirm to ask what a signature based purchase was; turns out its just when you select credit instead of debit.

I was really trying to get out myself out of credit card debt, but loved the cash back feature my credit cards. I decided to use my debit card instead of my credit card for a month to see if the rewards compared. At the end of the first month, I actually earned more rewards than I typically did with my credit card because I used my debit card for every, single purchase. When I was using my CC I wouldn't use it to be like my morning coffee or small things like that. Over a year later, I am consisently receiving betweeen $20-$25 a month back in rewards!

I Love My Rewards Checking Account

I have been a Radius Bank customer for about 6 months now and I love them! I opened a Rewards Checking account after hearing about them from a friend. Although I have a few checking accounts, Rewards Checking has become my primary one since I get cash back on almost all my purchases. I haven’t had any problems with my account and their mobile app is very easy to use and helps me manage my money. I would recommend this bank to any one. Overall I am very impressed.

Great online experience

I have been a customer of Radius bank for a couple of years now. Honestly, my point of using bank was only because I liked the savings account yield as compared to other banks, both brick and mortar and online. It has some of the highest savings account rates available today. As a virtual bank, my experience with customer service has been minimal. Once I signed up I got a notice of approval and an ATM card in the mail. Since then my interaction have been, well, entirely virtual. I have had no problems with any of my virtual interactions with the bank, if that counts as customer service. Only one negative I ever noticed and that was they limit how much you can put in at once as a new customer. So, if your purpose is to quickly move money to get a higher yield right away, you will have to wait sometime before significant money can be moved.

Very Disappointing

I wanted to move my account from WF to more modern bank that recognizes the changes to customer experience brought by ecommerce. It turns out Radius is not really an internet bank.

Opening an account with them was only thing that was easy. I had to contact them via internal messages to configure the most basic services, like online payments, etc. Each time it took 2-3 bus days to get it done.

The mobile app for depositing checks is very inconsistent. It works one day and doesn't work the next. Internal messaging is the only Customer Support method to get anything done. Phone support is horrible. The agent kept me on hold for 25 minutes, after which I was disconnected. He never called me back even though he took my number.

"Chat" is a fake as you can only get FAQ search. No human ever responded to my inquiries.

Time to move on.
