Up to 3.02% 24-Month CD at Raytown-Lee's Summit Credit Union in MO - Local Only

Raytown-Lee's Summit Credit Union is offering some competitive CD and IRA CD rates, and you can get an extra 0.50% on top of the standard rates with qualified services which include checking account, credit card or other CD. The most competitive standard CD rates include a 2.02% APY 12-month CD, a 2.27% APY 18-month CD and a 2.52% APY 24-month CD. With an extra 0.50%, these APYs become 2.52%, 2.77% and 3.02%. Minimum deposit is $500. These rates are listed at the credit union's rate table as of 7/22/09.

It has been a while since my last post on this credit union. It was back in 2006 when they were offering a 6.14% 2-year CD. Rates sure have fallen since then.

Memberhip is open to those who live or work in several Raytown zip codes. You can also be eligible by being a member of the Raytown or Lee's Summit PTA. The credit union does require you to come into a branch to join and open accounts. Membership requires a minimum balance of $1 in the savings account. The credit union has decent ratings for safety and soundness: 4 stars (excellent) at BauerFinancial and 3 stars (performing) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 3/31/09 financial data. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 62815).

The field of membership includes anyone who works for or is a student in the Raytown or Lee's Summit School District, and it includes those who live or work in areas of Raytown and Lee's Summit. In addition, the FOM includes anyone who joins the national PTA for a one time donation of $3.00.

The credit union has two branches in Raytown and Lee's Summit, Missouri which are in the southeastern suburbs of Kansas City.
