RidgeStone Bank (WI/IL) Offers 14-Month CD Special

Earlier this month, RidgeStone Bank raised the rate on its 14-month CD Special (1.25% APY). When the 14-month CD Special was added to RidgeStone Bank’s product line in January, the APY was only 0.75%; three subsequent rate increases led to the current 1.25% APY.

The minimum opening deposit is $10K and there is no maximum balance cap. The 14-month CD Special is also available as an IRA (Traditional and Roth) at the same APY, but with a lower minimum deposit of $1K.

As stated in RidgeStone Bank’s Terms and Conditions document, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:

If your account has an original maturity of 13-24 months, the fee imposed will equal 6 months interest on the amount withdrawn.

RidgeStone Bank is headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin (12 miles outside of Milwaukee), and its market area includes the suburban Milwaukee area and the Schaumberg, Illinois area.

Opening any type of account with RidgeStone Bank requires an in-person visit at either the Brookfield (WI) or Schaumberg (IL) branch.

At this time, RidgeStone Bank’s online banking platform is dedicated to account management and bill payment.

Ridgestone Bank is offering a special 2.50% APY 7-month CD. There's also a special 13-month CD with a 2.25% APY. These are available for personal, IRA and business accounts. New money is required. Minimum deposit depends on the branch. At Brookfield, the minimum deposit is $20,000. At Schaumburg, the minimum is $40,000. 5.35% Money Market Account Promotion at a Chicago/Milwaukee Bank (Ridgestone)
Ridgestone Bank is offering 5.35% APY on its money market account guaranteeed through 12/31/07 with a minimum balance of $40,000. A reader mentioned that this was advertised in yesterday's Chicago Tribune. The rate is also listed in the rate table (links on bottom left of home page).

It was a better deal last April when it was 5.50% guaranteed through December. Nevertheless, the 5.35% is still a good deal and with the threat of lower rates, the guaranteed rate is a plus.

5.50% Money Market Account Promotion at a Chicago/Milwaukee Bank (Ridgestone)
Ridgestone Bank is offering 5.50% APY on its money market account guaranteeed through 12/31/07 with a minimum balance of $40,000. A reader mentioned that this was advertised in yesterday's Chicago Tribune. This is not listed at the website, and in fact, the website is currently under construction. I called for further details. I was told that the rate for balances between $5K and $40K is 2.5% and the rate for balances under $5K is 1.3%. There's a $25 monthly fee for balances under $10K.
