At the end of last week, Springfield First Community Bank (SFC Bank) raised the rate on its 13-month CD Special (1.56% APY). This limited-time offer requires a minimum $1k opening deposit; as stated on SFC Bank’s Rates page, “Maximum deposit is $1,000,000.00.”
The 13-month CD Special was introduced about a month ago, initially earning 1.26% APY. Last week’s 30 bps increase was the first rate change since the CD Special was added.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty is 90 days interest.
Headquartered in Springfield, Missouri (home to Missouri State University), Springfield First Community Bank’s market area is primarily the greater Springfield area, but according to CSR, any Missouri resident who “can walk into the branch” is eligible to open an account.
Opening a CD Special must be done in person at SFC Bank’s sole Missouri branch located on South Glenstone Avenue in Springfield.
SFC Bank’s online banking platform is currently limited to account management and bill payment services.
