3.25% 17-Month / 3.15% 11-Month CD at Tri Boro FCU in Pennsylvania

Tri Boro Federal Credit Union has three competitive certificate specials: 3.15% APY for 11 months, 3.25% APY for 17 months and 3.30% APY for 21 months. Minimum deposit is $5,000. These specials are listed at the credit union's Share Certificate Specials Page as of 2/23/09. Above the rate table, it states that rates are accurate as of February 1, 2009, so I would be surprised if these last into March.

My last post on the credit union was almost a year ago when it was offering specials with the same terms but with rates of 4% and above.

Membership is open to all those who reside, worship, work or attend school in Allegheny or Washington County. See their membership page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum $50 deposit in the share savings account.

Branches are located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh in the towns of Munhall, McMurray and Monroeville. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 794).

Update 3/22/08: The special CD rates have ended.

Update 3/8/08: The special CD rates have gone down. The new rates are 4.40% APY 21-month, 3.75% APY 17-month and 3.60% APY 11-month. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

Tri Boro Federal Credit Union has several high yield certificate specials. These include include a 4.60% APY 21-month CD, a 4.50% APY 17-month CD, 4.00% APY 11-month CD and a 4.30% APY 7-month CD. All have a minimum deposit of $2,500 and require 25% new money.

Tri Boro Federal Credit Union has come out with some new certificate specials which include a 5.60% APY 21-month share certificate and a 5.50% APY 17-month share certificate. There's also some lower rate shorter term certificate specials. All have a minimum deposit of $2,500 and require 50% new money.

In July the credit union was offering a special 13-month 5.50% APY certificate.
