Membership is you have to live or have a family member in OR or Wa. My bother is out there and I had to send them other info. Took a few days to become a member. Very secured. Called a few time and they were always very helpful. Their website is very easy and once the funds are ach in it took me 3 minutes and a few clicks to order 2 of the 3.5% 3 year CD's. I was told it was ewp was over 6 months. The dividends stay in the CD earning that interest but can be dumped into the savings account they make you put $5 in.(by request). Hurry though, Looks like april 15th is the last day to do it.,
It's always a good sign when employees of other banks and credit unions say they wish they worked at Unitus. The customer service is top-notch: everyone makes you feel valued and welcome and all of my problems have been answered swiftly and politely. Their fees are incredibly reasonable where they even exist and their website makes it easy and convenient to check my account balance wherever/whenever. After having an account through Unitus, I can't imagine being with anyone else.
I have had good experience with Unitus CCU. They have no monthly fees and only require a $5 minimum balance in a savings account with them. Their website is easy to use and it you can find most information about your account quickly. The few times I've had to call them with questions, they were quick to answer the phone and helpful in solving my issues. I needed details on how to set up a pay by phone transaction to a third party; they quickly told me what I needed to know. The second time was when I had an unexpected overdraft. They explained what happened and reversed the fee which I really appreciated. Overall, I am very satisfied and will continue to bank with Unitus for the foreseeable future.
I love this bank. Everyone is friendly and they make it easy to do business with them.
I recently moved to the Portland area from the coast where I transferred my accounts from my old credit union. The process was smooth and when I need special attention the folks at Unitius have always been there. For example I once needed to increase the cash limit on my ATM card for a special purchase that I needed to complete that day. It only too a phone call to the main office and they reset my card limit right on the phone. As a result I was able to withdraw and additional $300 and help a friend of my purchase equipment for their small business. I also have to admit that I tend to lose things often, I recently misplaced my Unitus Debit card and the office staff provided me with the information I need to cancel the card and they provided me with some temporary checks since my new ones had not come in yet. It's been great.
I recently opened a new account here and was very pleased with my experience. I was able to open and fund the account online with ease. Within a week I had my debit card and was ready to roll. They have a great mobile app with full features, and many conveniently placed ATM'S. If you need to bank in person they have a friendly and knowledgeable staff with great amenities, such as free coffee, complementary computer, TV and quite the array of magazines if there happens to be a wait (which is rare).
I'm having a great time with Unitus and highly recommend this credit union.
I've been a customer with Unitus for over 10 years. My card was stolen on November 21st and I asked for a new card right away. They told me it would take 7-10 business days and I told them my new address. I called them on the 7th business day and they said it should arrive by Friday. When I called on the 10th day because it hadn't arrived they said they sent it to my Oregon address instead of the address in Colorado I had provided to them three times. They apologized and said they would issue a card out to me within two days (Friday) so I didn't have to wait any longer. They asked me to be home all of Friday, because I would have to sign for it. I waited all day Friday and my card didn't arrive, wasting my entire day. When I called them again they told me usually the card will arrive before 7pm even though they said it would arrive before 4pm. I was called on Saturday by them saying that expeded cards usually take up to 5 days so I should get my card December 9th. They said they had no notes of all these conversations that were occurring. Mind you, I don't have any other money source because my whole wallet was stolen and I don't have a check book. I've been late on my car insurance payments, and other automatic payments because I don't have a card. I'm getting late fees. I had to borrow money to pay for my broken out window, groceries, and gas for weeks now. I told them they needed to repair with me, but so far its been insult to injury several times so I will not be continuing services with Unitus in the future.
I moved my money to to Unitus because I had had some experience with them providing services to their retirement plan. I wanted them to have the business when I moved to a new condo and applied for a mortgage with them. I spite of the fact that I had four times as much in liquid assets as the price of the place I wanted to buy they turned me down because - get this - I hadn't taken enough money out of my IRAs to establish an income stream sufficient to make the payments, as determined by their underwriter. I tried to contact the president of the credit union, with whom I had a casual acquaintance, but to no avail. My conclusion is that this is an amateurish organization with ill-trained personnel who are apparently handed a checklist and a calculator and set loose to underwrite mortgages. I will take my money elsewhere very soon.
