Dedicated to Deposits: Deals, Data, and Discussion

5.76% 60-Month / 5.56% 36-Month CD at a Florida CU (Community First)

Community First Credit Union has some competitive rates on its long term certificates of deposit. The highest yield is 5.76% APY on a 60-month term and a $100k minimum deposit. A $45k minimum deposit has a yield of 5.71% APY and a $500 minimum has a yield of 5.65% APY. Other competitive yields with a $100K minimum include a 5.51% APY for a 30-month term, a 5.56% APY for a 36-month term and a 5.65% APY for a 48-month term. Please see the rate table for the full details.

Another nice feature with this credit union is its checking account that has a 7.50% APY for the first $500. However, it has a few requirements to earn this 7.50%. So the extra work may not be worth the extra $35 a year.

Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties. Please see the Eligibility page for the full details. Membership requires a $10 fee and a minimum $5 deposit into the primary share savings account.

Branches are located in Jacksonville and several other cities of northeast Florida. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 67290). It's a large credit union with $1.1 billion in assets and 104,190 members.
