5.40% 7-Month / 5.40% 9-Month CD at a Florida Bank (First Florida)

First Florida Bank is offering a CD special with a yield of 5.40% APY for terms of 7, 8 and 9 months. The minimum deposit is $5,000. This minimum can be waived if you also open one of the bank's checking accounts. This promotion is available at all of the bank's branches. These CDs don't seem to be listed at the bank's website. A reader emailed me info on this, and I contacted the bank today for additional details.

Branches are located in Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Naples, Port Charlotte, Venice and Winter Park, Florida. The bank is FDIC insured (Certificate # 35105).
