Clarkston State Bank is offering a very competitive special 24-month CD with a yield of 4.84% APY. The minimum deposit is $500.

It appears that a branch visit may be required for new customers. Branches are located in the Michigan cities of Clarkston and Waterford.

The bank doesn't appear to have the best financial health. BauerFinancial gives it a 1 star (troubled) based on 3/31/08 data. As I recommend with any bank, make sure you stay under the FDIC limits. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1998 (FDIC Certificate # 34957).
