4.50% 14-Month / 4.25% 9-Month CD at Peoples First Community Bank in Florida

Peoples First Community Bank has a CD promotion with some attractive rates. It includes a 4.25% APY 9-month CD and a 4.50% APY 14-month CD. The minimum deposit is $2,500. A checking account is required.

A branch visit appears to be required to open accounts. Branches are located across Central Florida, North Florida and the Florida Panhandle. Some of the cities with branches include Altamonte Springs, Apoka, Kissimmee, Clermont, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Panama City and Pensacola.

The bank's financial rating for soundness has gone down a bit since my July post. It now has a 2 star rating (problematic) at BauerFinancial based on 6/30/08 data (down from 3 stars).

The bank has been FDIC insured since 1983 (FDIC Certificate # 32167).
