TransCapital Bank
TransCapital Bank has some very attractive promotional CDs. The best are only offered at its Bonita Office. These include a 4.60% APY CD with terms from 13 to 15 months and a 4.50% APY 8-month CD. For its other branches, the promotional CDs include a 4.40% APY 13-month CD and a 4.35% APY 8-month CD. The minimum deposit is $5,000.

I last reported on this bank in November 2007 when it was offering a 5.51% 11-month CD.

Branches are located in Bonita Springs, Hallandale Beach, Delray Beach and Sunrise, Florida.

TransCapital Bank has some decent financial ratings for soundness: 3.5 stars (good) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 6/30/08 data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1999 (Certificate # 35050).

BankUnited FSB in Tequesta,Florida 561-747- 3137 is offering 4-6 mo cd 4.20% 7-12 mo 4.40%, and 18mo at 4% apy as of today October 29,2008.. Last week I achived a 13-18mo cd for 4.60 apy but don't know if it is still available
