2.65% 15-Month CD at Pacific State Bank in California - Local Deal
Apr 21, 2009 - 9:19 AM by Ken Tumin
Pacific State Bank is offering two competitive CD specials: a 2.65% APY 15-month CD and a 2.26% APY 9-month CD. Minimum deposit is $2,500. These rates are listed at the bank's rate table as of 4/21/09.
When I contacted the bank last year (1-800-841-0110), I was told that they do require a branch visit to open accounts. Branches are located in the California cities of Stockton, Modesto, Arnold, Tracy, Groveland, Angels Camp and Lodi.
The bank's ratings for safety and soundness have fallen since last year. It now has 2 stars (problematic) at BauerFinancial and 2 stars (below peer group) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 12/31/08 financial data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1987 (Certificate # 27090).
Other High Certificate of Deposit Rates
For top CD rates nationally available, refer to my weekly rate summary. Many of the best CD deals are only locally available. To find the best deals in your state, refer to the index of state CD and bank deals.
