Last Chance To Pay 0% Tax Rate On Gains

Thursday, August 23, 2012 - 9:24 AM
From SmartMoney:  Many taxpayers effectively pay zero taxes on long-term gains and dividends, a break set to expire this year.
The 0% rate applies only to long-term capital gains and qualified dividends that would otherwise fall within the 10% or 15% federal income tax brackets (the bottom two brackets). The little-known truth is you can be doing pretty well and still be within those brackets.
