There is a $25.00 charge for closing IRA CD's - even if they reached maturity. Of course, there is an early withdrawal penalty as well if closed prior to maturity.

FHB: I have never heard of this for an IRA. I went to Citizen's webpage and it seems there is a $25.00 fee for closing out the IRA plan. It says nothing about fees for closing CDs even when they reach maturity. I have always just replaced a matured CD in the IRA with another and never been charged a fee at any bank I use for my IRAs.
