First Cloverleaf Bank RCA (2.85%APY, $15K) To (2.53%APY, $15K)

Ken first covered this account in May of 2008 when it was paying 4.5% on $25k.  Two weeks after he revisited it in September of 2010 and announced that it was now available nationwide, the bank dropped the rate/cap from (4.01%APY/$25k) to (3.85%APY,$15k) and required a branch visit in order to open the account.

The My Great Rate Checking account is now paying 2.53% on $15k.  To qualify for the rate and nationwide ATM refunds up to $25, you must meet four requirements each statement cycle:

• Have at least 10 VISA debit card transactions (excluding ATM transactions)
• Have at least one direct deposit or ACH Auto Debit post and clear per statement cycle
• Have at least three online bill payments post and clear per statement cycle
• Receive your monthly statement electronically

The bank once again allows accounts to be opened online.  However only residents of Illinois and Missouri are eligible to use the online application to open new accounts.
