This article reminds me of why I contacted my local bank and was furious because I found out they had allowed their so called "personal banker" to access my accounts and see my financial info.  He said it was only to help me make more money on my accounts but I knew it was to be able to see how much he could get for other products he wanted to sell me.  I reported him to the manager and told them NO one was to access my accounts without my knowledge unless they were a bank employee and were doing normal banking business for me.

I am concerned that now that most banks have these so called "financial councellors" in their banks that too many seniors will be at their mercy unless they are wise like the lady in the article.  Many are not and many can lose because of trusting these people.

The golden rule is never sign anything without a careful examination; i.e., do not sign your life away.
