US Bank Changing Checking Requirements

Just noticed on the US Bank website that they are changing the requirements for avoiding fees.

Easy Checking will now require a combined $1000 monthly direct deposit (was $500) or an average daily balance of $1500.

Silver Checking package will now require a Package Money Market Savings account and either a combined $1000 monthly direct deposit (was $500) or a combined account balance of $1500 among all checking and savings accounts (CDs do not count).  It looks like the $25+ monthly auto transfer to a Package Money Market Savings account option will be gone (at least to prevent the monthly fee).  The good news is that the Money Market account has no minimum balance requirement.

Thanks for posting about the new requirements.  It looks like all the changes will be effective 8/12/13

The changes will probably not make people happy, but kudos to the bank for providing accountholders with 60 days' notice.
