Bigger Isn't Always Better, Says New CU Ranking Website

Smaller CUs that offer great deals on rates and fees are taking center stage on a new CU ranking website that is being touted as “the first website to grade credit unions for consumer desirability.”  

Launched by Santa Barbara, Calif.- based Orien Investments LLC,  ranks CUs based on a 15-point matrix that focuses on price, quality and convenience factors, using a proprietary search engine it calls CU-Shopper and using 5300 Call Report data.

The site provides the ability to locate credit unions by zip code, and offers ratings in price, quality and convenience.  Every credit union is assigned points for how well they rank nationwide on each of the factors. The higher the score, the better the rank.  

It is useful if one is interested in credit card rates, home loans and auto loans at a credit union.

However, thanks to Ken's work we already know how to find the best rates on savings products.
