Monday, July 15, 2013 - 8:03 PM
The average wage of a U.S. worker was $1,000 per week in the fourth quarter of 2012, or 4.7% higher from the same time in 2011, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In some areas, pay rose than 10%.

In the San Francisco metropolitan area, the average wage grew by nearly 25%, more than any area in the country.

Why is it not surprising to me that in San Francisco, which is in the state with the highest unemployment of all, the wages have gone up 25%. The few with jobs (a lot of very highly paid tech jobs among whatever else) there are getting more and more while others can't even get a job. I guess that 25% couldn't possibly be used to create more jobs.
