Another Website Launched To Protect Tax Exempt Status Of Credit Unions

Monday, July 15, 2013 - 8:25 PM
I just got an e-mail from a credit union I'm in arguing, even pleading against the push by banks for credit unions to lose their tax exempt status as non-profits. There have been other threads here about this battle starting to heat up, including at least one other listing a Website, which looks like it might have been seet up by CUs in California and Nevada. This one I got is by a national campaign on behalf of the credit unions. This Website, with plenty of information about how people can help lend support and contact their representatives, is at:

Don't Tax My Credit Union!

Just got an update e-mail from these folks containing assorted additional
info; most worthwhile items:

..You can apparently vote more than once, if you wish--

Already sent an email? Visit our grassroots action center and send another.
Ask your family, your neighbors, and your coworkers to send one, too.

Already sent an email? Pick up the phone and call 877-642-4223 and we’ll
patch you directly to your Senators and Representative.

..Status info--

we’ve delivered more than 360,000 contacts to Capitol Hill, all telling
Congress “Don’t Tax My Credit Union.”  We hear every day from
Representatives and Senators that they are with us, that we are turning
  the tide.
